Legal Description Verification
Any deeds, leases, contract or other documents transferring interest in property as well as subdivision plats, annexation/de-annexation ordinances and roadway dedication/vacation plats legal descriptions are reviewed by the GIS Manager and signed off on before recording. If any errors are found, a corrected document must be reviewed before recording.
The new plat act affidavit form which has a place for the GIS Manager to sign off on legal description verification.
We suggest taking all documents to him in the old copy room next to the Recorder’s office first as we can not put on a document or calculate payments until he has officially signed off on the document.
